Capital Project

On Tuesday, December 13, 2016, residents of the Fort Edward Union Free School District approved a Capital Improvement Project by a vote of 106 yes to 18 no. The $4.7 million Capital Improvement Project will improve safety and security, restrooms, lighting, and the building envelope.

The Capital Improvement Project is the result of two years of evaluation, research, and collaboration between the Board of Education, administration, and district architect.

Following the development of the 5-Year Building Condition Report, which the NYS Education Department requires all districts to create, the Board researched areas of the buildings that are in need of improvement. The district's architect, Tetra Tech, drafted a scope of work that includes bathrooms, windows, some roof replacement, and a new fire alarm system throughout both buildings.
